relationship. Domestic violence can happen in any family and in all kinds of homes. Even if the violence is not aimed at you, you can get hurt too. You might be in the same or next room when the violence is going on and this can be extremely distressing. They may also be violent towards you too.
If you find yourself in this situation, you can call the police. They take crimes like this very seriously and will be able to act quickly. |Childline is a free, 24-hour helpline for young people in distress or danger. Trained staff comfort, advise and protect young people who may feel they have nowhere else to turn. Young people call Childline about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (sexual, physical, emotional and neglect), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends' welfare and teenage pregnancy.
