YOF/YCF projects

The 2010/2011 Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) and Youth Capital Fund (YCF) has now come to a close.

The grants were for young people living in Surrey, aged between 11 and 19 years or up to 25 years old if they have additional needs. The grants allowed young people to have a greater choice and influence over what happens in their neighbourhood and improve things to do and places to go in their community.

There was a maximum limit of £3,000 for YOF projects. Certain parts of Surrey had been designated as being priority areas in most need of investment in youth services and provision and as a result there was a separate fund available. In Elmbridge these areas were the Walton Ambleside and Walton North wards.

YOF and YCF are funds, designed to empower young people in having a greater choice and influence over the provision and facilities in their neighbourhood. Any Elmbridge young person or group can apply for this money.

impact Councillors acted as a Grant Giving panel to allocate the money. They discussed the applications to see if they met the criteria and had a majority vote on all applications
